The UV Finish
All of our products undergo a UV lacquer finish. The UV finish is the new standard in terms of finishing. Instead of using chemical solvents (VOCs) in the finishing process, a photoinitiator is used. When exposed to UV light, this photoinitiator causes a chain reaction creating a hard wearing layer that sits on top of the wood surface. Beyond the benefits to the environment, the UV finish is typically 20% to 40% more durable than two-component finishes and has a faster curing time. This translates to furniture that is more resistant to day to day damage and a lower likelihood of factory defects. More importantly, the ease of applying this finish allows effectively every part of your furniture to be completely finished. No more unsightly and unfinished drawers. It’s just another way we’re trying to make the best decisions for our customers.
